What Access Control Does
The Access Control module gates your catalogue for visitors who should not see prices or buy directly — typically guests and non-approved roles. When a visitor is restricted, the price and the Add-to-Cart button are removed and replaced with a call-to-action you choose.
Settings
Open Settings → Access Control:
- Catalog Mode — Turn the whole store into a browse-only catalogue (no purchasing) for affected visitors.
- Restrict Guests — Apply the restriction to logged-out visitors.
- Replacement Action — What shows in place of the price / Add-to-Cart button.
Replacement Actions
Choose what a restricted visitor sees instead of the price and buy button:
| Action | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Login | Shows a Login button that links to your account/login page (the default). |
| Request a Quote | Shows a “Request a Quote” button that adds the product to the quote cart (requires the RFQ module). |
| Shows a WhatsApp click-to-chat button so the visitor can message you directly. | |
| Contact Form | Shows a contact / inquiry button so the visitor can ask for pricing. |
Where the Replacement Appears
The module hooks into standard WooCommerce template positions — the shop loop (catalogue grid) via woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item and the single product summary via woocommerce_single_product_summary. The original Add-to-Cart action is removed and the chosen CTA is rendered in its place.
Tip: Pair with RFQ
For a quote-driven store, set the replacement action to Request a Quote and enable the RFQ module. Restricted visitors then build a quote cart instead of checking out, and you respond with a formal quote from the admin.
