Understanding Rules
Hide Price Pro uses a rule-based engine to control price visibility. Each rule defines:
- Conditions — Who should this rule apply to? (roles, products, categories, dates, geo)
- Actions — What happens when conditions are met? (hide price, show button, show form)
- Priority — Which rule wins when multiple rules match?
Rules are evaluated top-to-bottom by priority. The first matching rule is applied.
Creating Your First Rule
Step 1: Open the Rule Editor
- Go to WooCommerce > Hide Price Pro
- Click Add New Rule
Step 2: Set Conditions
In the Conditions tab, configure who this rule targets:
- User Roles — Select which roles trigger this rule (e.g., Guest, Subscriber, Customer)
- Products — Apply to all products, specific products, or entire categories
- Categories — Target one or more product categories
Step 3: Set Actions
In the Actions section, choose what replaces the hidden price:
- Custom Text — Display a message like “Login to see prices”
- Login Button — Show a button that redirects to the login page
- Inquiry Form — Show a “Request a Quote” button that opens an AJAX modal
- Redirect — Send the visitor to a custom URL
- Nothing — Simply remove the price with no replacement
Step 4: Save and Test
- Click Save Rule
- Open an incognito/private browser window
- Visit a product that matches your rule conditions
- Verify the price is hidden and your chosen action is displayed
Rule Priority
When multiple rules could apply to the same product/visitor, priority determines which one wins. Lower numbers = higher priority. You can drag rules in the dashboard to reorder them.
Enabling and Disabling Rules
Each rule has an on/off toggle in the dashboard. Disabled rules are ignored during evaluation. Use this to temporarily pause a rule without deleting it.
