Overview
Both CodeAtoZ plugins follow WordPress coding standards and are fully extensible via actions, filters, and the WooCommerce REST API. This guide covers the basics of extending our plugins.
Plugin Architecture
Both plugins use an OOP class-based architecture:
- Main plugin file bootstraps and loads classes
- Each feature is a separate class (rules engine, admin UI, frontend rendering)
- All hooks are registered in class constructors or
init()methods - Templates are loaded via
template_includefilters
Where to Add Customizations
Never modify plugin files directly — updates will overwrite your changes. Instead:
- Add code to your theme’s
functions.php - Create a custom plugin for complex modifications
- Use the provided hooks and filters documented in the following articles
Coding Standards
We follow WordPress Coding Standards (WPCS). When submitting patches or custom integrations, please follow the same conventions for consistency.
